RELEASE NOTES
VERSION 6.520 - 2005/05/13
WIZARDS of the World - Time to go to SCHOOL!! - This new update of the Sheet now supports Wizard Specialization. Not only that, but the Spell Planners will now display the Difficulty Class for each of your selected spells, including any bonus from the Spell Focus feat! Feat Prerequisites also have been the focus of this new version. The BACK worksheet has had both the "Craft" and "Perform" skill removed from the general skills, as you need to specify the sub-type for those skills anyways. All conditional synergies are now listed as an extension of the total skill value - For instance, "Survival 10+2" means that you have a conditional synergy which may add a +2 to your roll if the situation is right (I intend to list those conditional synergies somewhere in a future update). Also of note, is a re-organization of the Links in the Customize worksheet which have been made easier to navigate.
Wizard
Specialization:
================
The process of selecting a School is very easy: When the "Wizard"
class is selected, you'll see a yellow
area just under the class name, with a red "School?"
displayed. If you click on that yellow
area, you will notice that you can access a list box full of school names. Just
select the School your wizard belongs to. If you are NOT specializing, simply
select None. For Specialist Wizards, the BACK worksheet will now display spells
per day with a +1 for the bonus (school) spell!! (exactly like the Cleric's
bonus domain spell).
Difficulty Class in
the Spell Planners:
===========================
The Spell Planners (all 3 of them) have been improved to display, in the
"save" section, the DC for all spells that require one. The calculated
value is based on the 0 level DC value already displayed in the table at the top
of the planners. You may override the basic DC if you need to create a special
class. Note that you could instead, override the DC directly from the BACK
worksheet, which is the source for all the DC of the Planners. The sheet does
this magic by examining the content of the "Save" for any spell (in
the Spell Data worksheet) - if it finds either 'Ref', 'Will' or 'Fort' it will
automatically add the DC for that spell. So if you create custom spell, make
sure you use the correct syntax in the "save" column!
Feat Prerequisites
added:
===================
Any
feats you have selected for which the prerequisites are not met, will be
displayed in RED!
This highlighting can be turned ON/OFF in the Sheet's Options in the Customize
worksheet [by default, this option is active]. Note that some Feats do not have
prerequisites, while others are not implemented because of their [technical]
requirements. You can see a list of those at the end of the integrated
feat document.
CHANGES form the
previous release:
===========================
Next on the Agenda:
==============
For the next few weeks, I will be focusing on creating the user manual for the
Sheet - I've already started work on it, and it's a lot more time consuming that
I though. I may show you my progression as I go along. Also, if the users would
like a 6th Attack section [will check the Poll result on that], I may try to add
it to the next release. Finally, I would also like to add Natural attacks to the
next release, as a selectable attack type!
Activation:
=======
Use your Personal Key to activate this version!
As always, let me know of any issues/problems you might have. I hear that Excel 2002 has issues opening this version of the Sheet [I use Excel 2003 to develop the Sheet]. I have no idea what causes this, but if you do find a workaround not already specified in the Possible Issue section, let me know!
