TURN AND FACE THE CHANGES

I would like to take this time to thank Richard for his tireless work on this character sheet. Every update has brought useful changes that add value to the product.

The sheet takes into account several factors that most other sheets don't. Familiars and other animals are already handled, and the bonuses for the master are already calculated. The spell planners calculate save DCs, durations and ranges and add them directly to the spells they modify. The common prestige classes are already loaded.

This has been best exemplified with my character Hammelech Ani, a Sorcerer with Archmage levels. I first put him on the sheet when he reached 21st Level, as it was the only sheet that could handle him at the time. As he has grown and changed, so has the sheet.

My character, however, seems to attract every strange effect in the game. First, he was contacted by Boccob to unite three soul fragments that were split into separate bodies. As a reward for that, he was given extra Charisma and an extra spell known at each level -- from the Cleric list. By removing the checkmark to limit spells to those from the class, the new spells were easily added.

The strangest change, however, was when he was forcibly changed into an amorphous blob. Once again, the sheet handled the change with no problems. All I had to do was create a custom race for him, switch out the previous Human, and everything fell into place.

I could go on, but part of the fun is searching out the sheet for yourself. I have used every page of the sheet for one character or another, and I find even more things every time I look.

THE ONLY SHEET

I have been playing D&D for 28 years now. Through that time I have spent countless hours in character creation. Richard, your character sheet is the finest tool for D&D that I have encountered. The Only Sheet allows me to quickly create a character with the appropriate skills and all the calculations are performed quickly. This is especially helpful when creating NPC's for my Wednesday night game. The sheet allows me to shift my focus from creating the bad guy to improving the story line. I think that this results in a better game for the players. I have found the sheet to be very flexible and adaptable which allows for unusual characters that keep my players on their toes. I have turned my gaming groups on to this and they have purchased your sheet. They also really enjoy your sheet. One of my players seemed to be challenged with getting attack bonuses and skill bonuses right. Now it is done for him and he gains the full benefits of his character levels and synergy bonuses. Moving the skills section to the first page was a great change to the sheet as I can just refer to the front page when running my npc's. Richard, thanks for all the hard work on the sheet. The effort really shows in your fine quality product.

MY TESTIMONY

Okay its easy to say its the best sheet ever, but in order to comprehend what that means you must understand what it can do for you. In fact saying that it is the best sheet ever is a misnomer; this is the best D&D 3.5 tool in existence. D&D 3.5 is based heavily upon classes and multi-classing as well as monsters taking levels. Although you can always flip open the MM to the proper CR that you are looking for as a challenge to your players, it becomes a more versatile world if their can be 7th level kobold thieves and 10th level green dragon fighters. Creating these powerful and interesting NPCs is extremely time consuming and can be very complicated. Have you ever tried to make a half-dragon/troll barbarian 5. The Only Sheet makes this process extraordinarily easy and quick.

The only sheet combines drop down menus, auto-calculating and error checking in such a fashion that when creating an NPC a DM need not spend hours pouring through his rule books to make sure he got every rule correct. The fact that the sheet is customizable (you can create your own classes, races, items, etc...) means that any permutation that you can imagine can be easily created using The Only Sheet.

Not only is The Only Sheet flexible, it is easy to use in game play. The print out of the sheet is clear and concise and very accurately reflects the WOTC character record sheet. Nearly all aspects of The Only Sheet are located in the same position as on the WOTC D&D 3.5 character record sheet. In addition to the front and back of your character record sheet, there are a plethora of other sheets that you can print to make your life easier. From sheets for animal companions and familiars to the 3 (yes 3) spell planners and spell books, you can organize any character you wish. All of these printed sheets are fully integrated into the character record sheet. For example, selecting an animal companion is a simple as selection the animal from a drop down list. The sheet fills in all of the rest of the info pulling from your druid or ranger information. The spell planners are also fully integrated, so that when you select a spell all pertinent information for the spell instantly fills in. The sheet even goes so far as to tell your how powerful a spell is at your character level. The Only Sheet will tell you how many 1d4+1 magic missiles you get, how may scorching rays you can fire, what the DC for your fire ball is etc...

One of the most impressive aspects of The Only Sheet is the stats page. This is a fully integrated single page resume of your character that has all pertinent information listed on it. It is designed much like a entry in the Monster Manual but more specific. You can even import a graphic of your character that will print in the top right hand corner of the stats page. The stats page is by far the most useful of any of the pages of The Only Sheet. Many of my NPC (as I've mentioned above) were created using The Only Sheet. For each I only print out the stats page. I have a small binder where I keep all these NPCs that is my own personal Monster Manual. I have fighters from various levels and various races, powerful NPC clerics and many others. If I need a good encounter for my characters I can now select from a huge assortment of NPCs that are the proper CR for my party of heroes.

Finally, its a sinch to use. My wife sat down the other day to make a new character for our campaign. She usually requires a least an hour and lots of help to create a character, but using the sheet she was able to create a character in 15 minutes that she was very happy with with only a couple quick questions. For her she loved it, because it made all the number crunching go away. She was able to focus on what she loved and create an entertaining and exciting character that kicks some butt, without getting frustrated or bogged down by the rules.

Oh, and don't forget the creator of The Only Sheet: Richard Taillon. When you invest in The Only Sheet you do not only get a Excel spread sheet but you get the constant vigilance of Richard. Richard is exceedingly fast at correcting errors and integrating new ideas into the sheet. He has also written custom formulas for people to put into their sheet to account for specific games they are playing that are not covered in the SRD. Richard has also created a web site and a Forum for discussion of the sheet, so there is now a 24 hour a day tech support if you need help. 99% of problems that you may encounter has probably been seen by at least one other user and there will be a discussion about it and solutions in the Forum. And if that does not solve your issue, Richard is always just an e-mail away, and he is vigilant about responding and helping registered users find their way.

For casual players, ROLE players, and hard core D&D addicts (like my self) this is the perfect character record sheet and tool for hacking and slashing through the numbers. You will enjoy The Only Sheet if you only have one character or if you have hundreds of characters.

THE ONLY SHEET I NEED

When I first came upon the sheet, I was interested but thought that I did not want to pay $15.00 for an excel spread sheet. Then I looked around for another sheet that would do what I need it to...and there is not one. The Sheet is so easy to use and so customizable that it IS the Only sheet that I have found that will do what I want, and Richard upgrades it so often that it now does MORE then I ever thought I could find in a character sheet.

The sheet has improved my playing by making me not have to worry if I have every little plus and bonus and what ever calculated right because it does it AND with the news Group associated with it there are LOTS of people checking to make sure that the sheet was done right and if a bug is found Richard jumps right on it and fixes it with out a complaint, heck he even thanks the person that found the bug. All in all $15.00 is a fair and just price to pay for this master work of a character Sheet.

Thanks Richard

UNPARALLELED

Preparation, extensive planning and accurate information are a MUST for a dungeon master, especially for one who is running his very first adventure. Although my Dungeons and Dragons experience is limited, Richards' sheets made me look like an experienced veteran. With the help of www.theonlysheet.com, my non-player characters were a breeze to create, control and refine week after week.

Game flow is what keeps a large adventure interesting. Stopping periodically to look up NPC or monster stats can ruin even the most exciting moments. When you're in the middle of a large battle, a booby trapped dungeon or attempting to bluff a young mage, and you need quick accurate stats as soon as possible, this sheet is priceless.

Even when I'm not running the show, I still find ways to amaze my gaming partners by the useful, clear, and accurate character sheet I bring with me every adventure. This sheet leaves absolutely nothing out. When my adventuring partners are digging through book after book looking for information, I myself can check my sheet knowing that everything is covered. In the minute chance that the sheet does not cover a specific area, all it takes is a short email to Richard himself and the problem is resolved.

There are hundreds of so-called "character generator" programs on the internet today. Fortunately for me, I have found www.theonlysheet.com and my search for the best is over. The time, effort, and thought that is poured into this character generator week after week is unparalleled by competitors.

Thank you Richard for your remarkable product!

Sincerely,

Joseph S.

This sheet is the most versatile and complete character sheet's I've ever used. I use to download every new character sheet available that would make it easier on myself and my players. This beats everything else I've ever tried. I wish I had the skills to have created this sheet and the ability to maintain the updates! In a word, "WOW!"

Thanks Richard!

Richard,
I want to say that I am very impressed with your knowledge of excel and how you have created a great Character Sheet that I use almost every weekend. I wish I had half the knowledge in excel formulas that you do. To be honest, I have tried to create some items you have done for work related items and I am just lost as to how you do them.

12 hours of work on the last updates and revisions? A great programmer like you? From what I am seeing, there are a lot of companies that need to be knocking at your door.

I saw that you asked for people to comment on how good the Sheet is, and it is great. I also think we as the group need to give thanks to the person that made the Sheet. There are very few people in this world that will just offer their talents for free or at a VERY low cost.

So, If you want to post this email for how great your Character Sheet is, please do and I will say to everyone....

Pay the money..... it is worth every bit and much more.
